Who rents here

Why do Alamo RV resorts and Winter Texans rent portable restrooms?

Alamo is a noted winter resort and retirement town, and 18.8% of its 19,493 residents were 65 or older in the 2020 census. RV resorts and mobile-home parks host winter crowds, so restroom needs peak in the cool months: resort-wide gatherings, clubhouse remodels and overflow during busy weekends.

  • Clubhouse or bathhouse remodel: a long-term rental keeps residents covered while plumbing is down.
  • Resort potlucks, dances and holiday meals: a standard bank with a sink unit, dropped before and picked up after.
  • Season-long overflow: seasonal rentals on 28-day billing through the winter.

Note on RV tanks: our RV pump-out service runs in Laredo only. In Alamo we bring and service portable restrooms; we do not pump RV holding tanks there.
Accessibility

Which unit works best for older guests in Alamo?

For older Alamo guests, the PolyJohn Comfort XL is the safest pick: a roll-in floor with no door sill, a 32-by-74-inch door frame and more than 16 square feet inside. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, 5% of units in each public cluster must be accessible, minimum 1; at resort events we suggest more.

Who is comingLegal minimum (public events)Our recommendation in Alamo
Resort event, 100 residents1 accessible if the event is public1 Comfort XL + 1 standard
City festival bank of 101 accessible1–2 accessible at each bank
Private family partyNo rule for private homes1 accessible if any guest uses a walker

Rule: 2010 ADA Standards §213.2. We describe the unit as wheelchair-accessible only.

  • Footprint62" × 62" × 91"
  • Door frame32" × 74"
  • FloorBarrier-free, no sill
  • Weight240 lb
  • Holding tank33 gal

Set it on a paved pad or packed ground, never gravel ruts, so a wheelchair can roll straight in. Leave a clear, level approach in front of the door; the barrier-free floor has no raised sill to bump over. Tell dispatch how many guests use walkers or chairs, and we will suggest how many accessible units to spread across the site.

Getting there

How does an Alamo delivery get scheduled from Laredo?

Alamo is roughly 155–165 road miles from our Laredo yard (approximate): US 83 down the river into the Valley, then I-2 east past McAllen. Alamo is Zone 3, so book 48 hours ahead; the truck usually reaches Alamo mid-route, after Mission and Pharr and before Donna.

  1. Call with the site and lot number, plus the resort office phone so the driver can check in at the gate.
  2. We book a Valley route day and text the confirmation and 4-hour window.
  3. The driver checks in at the front office and places units where you marked them.
  4. Weekly service or pickup follows on later route days.
Honest timing: if one toilet is needed in Alamo today, a provider based in the Valley will very likely be faster. Our route is best for planned resort orders, city-event banks and season-long rentals.
Local calendar & rules

Which rules affect an Alamo restroom order?

Alamo restroom orders follow 4 sets of rules, depending on the site: city rules inside city limits, resort management inside an RV park, federal rules near Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, and the Hidalgo County mass-gathering policy for big events outside city limits. Call the City of Alamo to confirm its event process.

SituationWho sets the rulesPractical effect
Event at your home or resort, inside city limitsCity of Alamo; no event permit page was publishedCall the city if you will close a street, sell food or expect a large crowd
Event inside an RV resortResort managementGet the office's okay and gate hours before booking
Near Santa Ana National Wildlife RefugeU.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (federal land)Place units on private property off US 281, not on refuge land, unless the refuge approves
Large gatherings outside city limitsHidalgo County mass gathering policyNo more than 50 people per seat, men's and women's marked, hand-washing at each bank

Rules change; confirm with the city or the site owner before you book. Not legal advice.

Coverage

Which parts of Alamo do you serve?

Jason Rental Works delivers across Alamo, a city of 19,493 people in 2020, from the city center and its RV resorts and orchards to the roads south along US 281 toward Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge. Send the resort name and lot number, or a map pin for rural sites.

  • City center
  • RV resorts and mobile-home parks
  • Orchard roads
  • US 281 south toward Santa Ana NWR

Neighbors on the same route: Donna, Pharr. No deliveries across the Progreso bridge into Mexico.

Placement & service

Where should a porta potty sit at an Alamo RV resort?

At an Alamo RV resort, put the unit on a paved pad or packed gravel near the clubhouse, at least 3 feet clear in front of the door, with a 10–11 foot path for the truck. Avoid grass that floods after a heavy Gulf rain, and keep the door facing the walkway, not the RV sites.

  • Night use: place it under a pole light; residents walk over after dark.
  • Low branches: palms and citrus trees often hang under 12 feet; tell us before the truck comes.
  • Humidity and heat: crowds of 10+ a day in warm months should book 2 services a week.

What happens on a service visit

On each Valley route day the driver pumps the tank, scrubs the seat, walls and floor, restocks paper and sanitizer, refills any sink, and signs a dated ticket inside the door. Need an extra visit before a big resort event? Ask when you book.

FAQ

Alamo rental questions

Questions taken from real rental calls, answered by our dispatchers.

(956) 396-3700
Can you rent a porta potty to an RV resort for the whole winter season?
Yes. Seasonal units bill every 28 days with weekly service on the Valley route day, and there is no signed contract. Billing keeps renewing until you call for pickup, which comes within 1–2 business days. A standard unit typically runs $135–$199 per 28 days before tax, plus the shared Zone 3 trip fee.
Do you pump RV holding tanks in Alamo?
No. Our RV and camper pump-out service runs in Laredo only. In Alamo we deliver and service portable restrooms, hand-wash stations and restroom trailers. For tank pumping at your RV site, ask your resort office for a local pumper.
Is the accessible unit easier for someone with a walker?
Usually, yes. The PolyJohn Comfort XL has a barrier-free floor with no raised sill, a 32-inch-wide door frame and more than 16 square feet inside, which leaves room to turn a walker or wheelchair. We describe it as wheelchair-accessible, not as a certified compliance unit.
What is the delivery fee to Alamo?
Alamo is a Zone 3 long-haul stop. The distance fee is quoted per trip, typically $150–$350, and split across every unit on the truck. Unit prices match Laredo: a wheelchair-accessible event unit typically runs $210–$310 before tax.
Can you put a restroom at a Santa Ana refuge birding outing?
Not on refuge land without the refuge's permission; Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is federal property. We can place units on private property near the US 281 approach, such as a church lot or a host's yard, with the owner's okay.
We are hosting a resort dance for 150 residents. How many units?
For a 4-hour evening, our method says 3 standard units, plus 2 more if drinks are served (1 per 100 guests, rounded up). With an older crowd, make one of them the wheelchair-accessible Comfort XL and add a hand-wash station for every 2 toilets if food is served.
