What you get

What comes inside a standard porta potty?

A standard porta potty from Jason Rental Works is the PolyJohn PJN3, a single stall with a seat, a non-splash urinal, two toilet paper rolls, a mirror and a vented, translucent roof. The PJN3 holds 60 gallons of waste and weighs about 175 pounds empty, so our crew can cart it about 25 feet from the truck.

  • Daylight without wiring. The translucent roof lights the stall, so nobody needs a phone flashlight at a 5 pm party.
  • A roof vent that pulls air out. Hot air rises out the stack, which matters on a Laredo afternoon over 100°F.
  • A urinal beside the seat. Men at a carne asada or a framing crew move through faster, so the seat stays cleaner.
  • Zero hookups. No water line, no outlet and no plumbing. The PJN3 works on a ranch with no power at all.
  • Stocked on arrival. Two rolls of paper and hand sanitizer come with every event rental.

Gates, yards & caliche

Will a standard porta potty fit through my gate?

A standard porta potty fits through any gate at least 48 inches wide. The PolyJohn PJN3 measures 43.5 inches across and 47 inches deep, and the crew needs room for their hands. The delivery truck itself needs a path about 10–11 feet wide, with no cables or branches hanging lower than 12 feet.

  • Pick firm, level ground. Caliche, gravel, packed dirt and a driveway slab all work. Soft sand and slopes do not.
  • Stay out of the low spot. The storm of September 25, 2025 caused 17 water rescues and closed 18 Laredo streets. Water finds the low corner of a lot first.
  • Leave 3 feet in front of the door and face the door away from the food tables if you can.
  • Keep it on private property. A unit in the street or right-of-way needs a City of Laredo permit pulled by a registered contractor.
  • Tell us about dogs, electric fences and low lines. All three came up in the calls we reviewed, and a heads-up keeps the drop smooth.

Sizing

How many standard units do I need for my party or crew?

Plan 1 standard porta potty per 50 guests for a party of up to 4 hours, 1 per 35 for 4–8 hours, and 1 per 25 past 8 hours. Add 1 unit per 100 guests when alcohol is served. Work crews follow OSHA Table D-1, where 1 toilet covers up to 20 workers.

From our call logs
1 of 19

callers in our review booked one standard unit for about 100 guests. Our method calls for 2 at a short party and 3 with drinks, so dispatch asks for your guest count before quoting.

Servicing

How often is a standard porta potty cleaned in Laredo heat?

Every standard porta potty leaves our San Bernardo Avenue yard pumped, scrubbed and restocked. Jobsite units get 1 cleaning visit each week, built into the 28-day rate. Laredo averages a 100.8°F high in July, so from May through September crews of 8 or more do better with 2 visits a week.

  1. Pump the tank down to empty and recharge it with a fresh deodorizer.
  2. Scrub and sanitize the seat, urinal, door handle, latch and floor.
  3. Restock both paper rolls and the sanitizer.
  4. Leave a dated ticket inside the door, so the site super can see the last visit.

From call to pickup

How does a standard porta potty rental work, start to finish?

A standard rental takes 1 phone call and 5 steps. You give us the address, date and head count. We text an itemized quote and payment link. You mark the spot, the driver texts about 30 minutes ahead, and pickup lands on the scheduled day, usually the Monday after a weekend party.

  1. Call or text (956) 396-3700. Give the ZIP, the date and whether it is a party or a jobsite. English or Spanish.
  2. Approve the quote by text. Email invoices can crawl; the text link is faster. You get a reservation number once it is paid.
  3. Mark the spot. A cone, a chair or a ribbon works, or text us a photo. You can also show the driver on the day.
  4. Delivery in a 4-hour window. The driver calls or texts about 30 minutes before arriving and sets the unit level.
  5. Pickup. Weekend parties: dropped Thursday or Friday, picked up Monday, at no extra rental charge. Jobsites: call when you are done.

Honest fit check

When is a standard porta potty the wrong choice?

A standard porta potty is the wrong choice in 4 situations: a guest uses a wheelchair, the party is an engagement or wedding where guests expect a flush and sink, food is served with no place to wash, or the only way in is a gate narrower than 48 inches. Each situation has a better unit or add-on.

Where they go

Where do Laredo renters put standard units to work?

Standard units cover 3 kinds of Laredo work: backyard parties and quinceañeras, construction and warehouse sites along Mines Road (FM 1472) and Loop 20, and ranch or gas-pad crews across Webb County, which produces about 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day. The same PJN3 model serves all three.

FAQ

Standard porta potty questions from Laredo callers

Questions taken from real rental calls, answered by our dispatchers.

(956) 396-3700
I just need a basic one. What does a standard porta potty cost?
A standard PolyJohn PJN3 for a party or family event typically runs $150–$225 before tax in Laredo. That one event price covers 1–5 days on site, delivery, setup, pickup, toilet paper and sanitizer. Laredo's 8.25% sales tax is shown on the quote. See the full cost breakdown.
What does a standard unit cost for a jobsite or remodel?
A standard unit on a construction site or home remodel typically runs $135–$199 per 28-day cycle before tax, with one cleaning visit every week included. Billing runs every 28 days, not by calendar month, and there is no contract. Call for pickup and the billing stops.
How many standard units for about 30 people?
For a party of about 30 guests up to 4 hours, 1 standard unit is enough. If those 30 people are camping out all weekend, plan 2, because our method uses 1 unit per 25 people once an event runs past 8 hours. Add 1 more if beer or drinks are flowing.
I have a tractor with forks. Can I move the unit myself?
Please don't. A used porta potty cannot be tipped or moved until it is pumped, and dragging or lifting it with a tractor or truck can crack the tank and spill waste. Damage from moving or towing falls on the renter. Call (956) 396-3700 and we move it after pumping.
Can I get a standard unit tomorrow morning?
Yes, in most of Laredo. Call before noon and a standard unit can usually go out the same afternoon; call after noon and it rides the first route the next morning. If a same-day fee applies, it runs $0–$85 and we tell you the amount before you book.
Will a standard porta potty smell in July?
Odor builds faster in heat, so place the unit in shade and keep the door shut. From May to September we recommend 2 service visits a week for crews of 8 or more, or any unit used by 10+ people a day. An extra visit typically runs $40–$70 before tax.
Is the standard unit the same one you put on construction sites?
It is the same PolyJohn PJN3 model, pumped, scrubbed, sanitized and restocked at our yard before every delivery. Event units go out clean and stocked with two rolls of paper and sanitizer. If the look matters for a wedding or engagement, ask about the deluxe flushing unit.
