Should we rent a deluxe flushing unit or a restroom trailer for our wedding?
Rent deluxe flushing units for an engagement party or a home wedding under about 100 guests, because each unit stands alone and needs no power. Rent a restroom trailer when you have a 120V outlet within 100 feet and want A/C, mirrors and running-water sinks. Both requests for trailers in our 19 reviewed calls were for weddings.

How many restrooms does a 120-guest summer wedding need?
A 120-guest wedding running 7 hours in July with an open bar needs 9 toilets and 5 hand-wash stations by our method, with 1 of the 9 wheelchair-accessible. A mix also works, such as a 2-stall trailer near the head table plus deluxe units for the rest; dispatch confirms the final count on the call.
- Base: 120 guests ÷ 35 per unit (4–8 hours) = 3.4 → 4.
- Open bar: +1 per 100 guests → 1.2 → +2 = 6.
- Wedding crowd (our mostly-female add): +1 per 100 → +2 = 8.
- July, over 6 hours: +1 per 150 guests → +1 = 9.
- Accessible: 5% of 9, minimum 1 → 8 + 1 accessible. Dinner served → 9 ÷ 2 → 5 hand-wash stations.
Our house sizing method, rounded up at each step. Deluxe units have a sink inside, which counts toward hand washing at the stall; stations still help near the buffet.
recorded rental calls we reviewed were wedding-related: an engagement party, two family weddings and a planner booking for a venue. Both restroom trailer requests in the sample came from weddings.

Engagement party hosts usually want 1 deluxe flushing unit with a sink inside, not a basic porta potty. One caller asked for the deluxe model by name and confirmed the sink before paying. For 50 guests over 4 hours, 1 deluxe unit plus 1 hand-wash station near the food covers it.
The unit is pumped, washed, sanitized and stocked before it leaves our San Bernardo Avenue yard. The lid closes over the bowl, so guests never look into the tank. Place it on the side of the house, out of the photos, with a path that stays lit after dark.
A bigger engagement party, say 100 guests for 5 hours with a bar, needs 4 units by our method. A good mix is 1 deluxe unit near the family with standard units for the rest. If the house sits on septic, an outdoor unit also keeps 100 guests off the home system.
“I wanted to see about renting one of your deluxe port-a-potties.”
“And it has a sink in it, right?”
“Is it nice? Is it really nice?”
“The venue has bathrooms, but they want a little extra.”

What does a restroom trailer need at the wedding site?
A restroom trailer needs 3 things at the wedding site: a level spot 20 to 30 feet long, a 120V outlet within 100 feet, and a truck path to back it in. A 2-stall trailer runs on a regular 110V household outlet. A water hose is optional, because the trailer carries its own tank.
- Level ground. Caliche pads and gravel drives are ideal. Avoid soft lawn after rain.
- Outlet on its own circuit if you can, so the DJ and the trailer A/C don't trip the same breaker.
- Clear overhead path with no branches or cables lower than 12 feet.
- Out of low spots. Laredo flash floods hit fast; September 2025 brought 17 water rescues.

When do wedding restrooms arrive and leave?
Wedding restrooms arrive 1 or 2 days before the ceremony and leave the next business day after it. For a Saturday wedding, that means a Thursday or Friday drop and a Monday pickup at no extra charge. Dispatch sets a 4-hour delivery window and the driver calls about 30 minutes ahead.
| Wedding day | Units or trailer arrive | Picked up | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friday evening | Thursday | Monday | Gives the decorator a day to work around them |
| Saturday | Thursday or Friday | Monday | The most requested slot; fall Saturdays fill weeks ahead |
| Sunday | Friday or Saturday | Monday | We don't run trucks on Sunday |
| Rehearsal Friday + Saturday wedding | Thursday | Monday | Ask for a service visit Saturday morning |
One wedding caller asked whether the units come "that morning or the night before." The day before is the answer, every time, so a late truck never meets your guests at the gate.
Do we need a wheelchair-accessible restroom at our wedding?
At a private home wedding, a wheelchair-accessible restroom is our strong advice rather than a legal rule whenever a guest uses a wheelchair or walker. At a public venue, the 2010 ADA Standards §213.2 call for at least 5% of portable units in each cluster to be accessible, with a minimum of 1.
The PolyJohn Comfort XL has a roll-in floor with no sill, a 32" × 74" door frame and more than 16 square feet inside. We call it wheelchair-accessible; we don't label any unit "compliant," because compliance depends on the whole site. Read the rule at the U.S. Access Board.

Picking a date and a venue?
Call with the address, guest count and hours. We check the trailer site and send one itemized quote your planner can forward.
How does a wedding planner book restrooms for a client's property?
A wedding planner books in 5 steps: send the address and site photos, get an itemized quote, forward the quote for the property owner's approval, pay to hold the date, and confirm the on-site contact. Four of the 19 callers we reviewed were booking for a property someone else controlled.
- Send the venue address or a map pin, guest count, hours and the outlet location.
- Get the quote by text or email, listing units, delivery, setup, pickup and tax.
- Forward it to the property owner for approval of the spot and any power use.
- Pay the invoice by card or the secure text link. The date is held once it's paid in full, and a reservation number comes by text.
- Name the on-site contact: venue manager, owner or planner. The driver calls that person 30 minutes out.
Plans move. Date changes are free with 24 hours' notice. Full rules are in our rental terms.
How do we keep wedding restrooms comfortable in Laredo heat?
Laredo averages 100.8°F in July and sees about 74 days a year at or above 100°F, so summer wedding restrooms need shade and a plan. A restroom trailer's A/C handles the heat best. Deluxe units used more than 6 hours in summer can get a deodorizer refresh, and shade cuts the inside temperature.
- Shade first: the north side of a barn, house or tree line.
- Evening receptions: late ceremonies help; the hottest hours are mid-afternoon.
- Weekend-long weddings: add a nightly service between the rehearsal dinner and the reception.
Ranch and rural venues
Ranch weddings outside Laredo often sit miles down a caliche road. Send a Google Maps pin, the gate code and any cattle guards on the way in. Nobody needs to be there at delivery if the spot is marked. Placing units on soft ground or near a creek? Our caliche, flood and cattle guard placement guide helps.
Keep the restrooms a short walk from the dance floor and the food, downwind if you can, and light the path with string lights or lanterns. Guests in heels do better on gravel or a caliche pad than on loose dirt.
