What makes it deluxe

What makes the deluxe unit different from a standard porta potty?

The deluxe PolyJohn Fleet adds 3 things a standard unit lacks: a foot-pump flush, a lid that closes over the bowl so guests never look into the tank, and a sink with soap and paper towels inside the stall. The Fleet measures 47 inches square and needs no water line, hose or outlet.

Measure the gate before you book. At 47 inches across, the Fleet needs a wider opening than the standard unit, and the crew needs hand room on both sides.

For the dressed-up crowd

Is a deluxe porta potty nice enough for an engagement party?

Yes, for most backyard engagement parties of 50 to 100 guests. Guests notice 3 details: the flush, the closed lid, and washing up without walking outside to a separate sink. In our 2026 review of 19 rental calls, the caller who asked for the deluxe unit by name was planning an engagement party.

That caller asked one follow-up before paying: "And it has a sink in it, right?" It does. The sink runs on a foot pump, so nobody touches a faucet after using the toilet.

A 90th-birthday host in the same review asked the question every host asks: "Is it nice? Is it really nice?" The honest answer is that a deluxe unit still looks like a portable restroom from outside. Inside, it feels much closer to a bathroom. For a fully indoor feel with A/C, step up to a restroom trailer.

Sizing

How many deluxe units do I need for my guest count?

Plan 1 deluxe unit per 50 guests for a party up to 4 hours and 1 per 35 for 4–8 hours. Add 1 unit per 100 guests when alcohol is served, and 1 more per 100 for a mostly-female crowd such as a wedding or bridal shower. Round every step up.

Worked example: 100-guest engagement party, 5 hours, with a bar

  1. 100 guests ÷ 35 per unit (4–8 hours) = 2.9 → 3 units.
  2. Bar is open: +1 per 100 guests → 4 units.
  3. Mix for budget: 2 deluxe near the patio for guests, 2 standard at the side for overflow.
  4. Buffet dinner: add 1 hand-wash station by the food line, since guests leaving the table will not walk into a stall to wash.

Water & power

Does a flushing porta potty with a sink need water or power?

No. The PolyJohn Fleet carries its own fresh water for the flush and sink, plus a 60-gallon waste tank, so the deluxe unit needs 0 hookups: no hose, no outlet and no plumbing. That is the main difference from a restroom trailer, which needs a 120-volt outlet within 100 feet.

  • Ranch or quinta with no power: the deluxe unit works anywhere a truck can reach.
  • Backyard with one outdoor outlet: save it for the DJ and the lights; the Fleet does not need it.
  • Long, hot party: shade the unit from May to September. Laredo averages about 74 days a year at or above 100°F.

Where should the deluxe unit stand?

  • On level, firm ground: patio edge, driveway, gravel or packed caliche.
  • Out of sight lines from the head table, but lit for evening guests.
  • Away from where people eat. One caller asked us to "put it on the side," and that is good advice.
  • With 3 feet clear in front of the door, and never in the low corner of the yard after rain.
Timing

When will the deluxe unit arrive for an evening party?

A deluxe unit for an evening party arrives in a 4-hour daytime window, usually the day before or the morning of the event, and the driver texts about 30 minutes ahead. For a Saturday party, most hosts take a Thursday or Friday drop and a Monday pickup at no extra rental charge.

Evening parties are the most common reason people worry about timing. One caller's event started at 6 pm; another said the invitation read 4 pm "but people always show up early." Both problems go away with an earlier drop.

  1. Hold the date. Event dates are held once paid in full, and you get a reservation number by text.
  2. Send the spot later if you need to. Text a photo or mark it with a chair on the day.
  3. Driver sets and levels the unit, checks the flush and sink, and leaves it stocked.
  4. Monday pickup. Nobody needs to be home; leave the gate open or text the code.
Change of plans? Cancel 24 hours or more before delivery for a full refund, and move the date free with 24 hours' notice. Inside 24 hours, we refund everything except the delivery fee.

Before you book

What do hosts ask before booking a deluxe unit?

Hosts booking a deluxe unit ask about 4 things: whether the sink is inside, whether the unit looks good, what time the truck comes, and where the unit should go. The answers are yes, yes, a 4-hour window with a 30-minute text, and wherever you mark the spot, even on delivery day.

Pick the right tier

Deluxe, standard or restroom trailer: which fits my event?

Choose a standard unit for a casual party or jobsite, a deluxe unit for an engagement, shower or 90th birthday of up to about 100 guests, and a restroom trailer for a formal wedding or quinceañera with 4+ hours in summer heat. Wheelchair users need the accessible unit, whatever tier you pick.

FAQ

Deluxe flushing unit questions

Questions taken from real rental calls, answered by our dispatchers.

(956) 396-3700
How much is the deluxe one with the sink?
The deluxe PolyJohn Fleet with a flush and inside sink typically runs $235–$345 before tax for an event in Laredo. That flat event price covers 1–5 days on site, delivery, setup, pickup, toilet paper, soap and paper towels. Your quote adds only any distance fee and the 8.25% sales tax.
Do I have to hook the deluxe unit up to a hose?
No. The Fleet carries its own fresh water for the flush and the sink, plus a 60-gallon waste tank. It needs no hose, no outlet and no plumbing, so it can stand in the middle of a pasture. Only restroom trailers need power.
Can I get a deluxe unit the same day?
Usually not. Our same-day stock is standard units and hand-wash stations, so deluxe units are booked ahead. If your party is inside 72 hours, call (956) 396-3700 and we check the yard. A standard unit plus a hand-wash station can still go out same-day when you call by noon.
Can the deluxe unit stay through Sunday after a Saturday engagement party?
Yes. An event rental covers 1–5 days on site at one flat price. Most deluxe units drop Thursday or Friday and leave Monday, so Sunday cleanup and family brunch are covered at no extra rental charge.
What happens if the sink water runs low during a long party?
The Fleet arrives with full fresh water, soap and towels. For a two-day event, or a long party with a big crowd, add a mid-event service. An extra service visit typically runs $40–$70 before tax, and the crew refills water, pumps and restocks.
How many deluxe units for a 150-guest wedding?
A 150-guest wedding of 4–8 hours needs 5 units by our method, then 4 more for a bar and a mostly-female crowd (2 each), or 9 in all. A common setup mixes 2–3 deluxe units near the reception with standard units for overflow. Above that size, a restroom trailer, typically $750–$2,400 for a weekend, is worth pricing.
Is it okay to put the deluxe unit on the lawn?
Yes, if the lawn is level and firm. The Fleet weighs about 200 pounds empty and much more once used, so we avoid soft or soggy grass and the low corner of the yard after rain. Mark the spot or text a photo, and the driver levels the unit on arrival.
