An engagement party at home is personal. The pedida de mano, the rings, the families meeting in the backyard. Nobody wants the first thing guests remember to be a line outside the hallway bathroom. A deluxe flushing unit gives you a clean, private restroom outside the house, and it looks the part.
What is a deluxe flushing porta potty?
A deluxe flushing porta potty is a portable restroom with a foot-pump flush and a sink built in. Our model is the PolyJohn Fleet: 47 by 47 inches and 91 inches tall, with a 60-gallon waste tank, a separate fresh-water flush tank, soap and paper towels. The lid closes over the bowl.
That closing lid is the detail guests notice. With a standard unit, you look straight into the tank. With the deluxe unit, a flush rinses the bowl and the lid hides what is below. The sink inside means guests wash before they open the door, which matters at a party with food on every table.

Is a deluxe unit nice enough for an engagement party?
Yes, a deluxe unit is nice enough for most engagement parties at home, and it is the unit we recommend for them. Every unit is pumped, scrubbed, sanitized and restocked before every delivery. For 1 evening with up to about 50 guests, a single deluxe unit gives guests a flushing toilet, a sink and privacy.
"Is it really nice?" is a fair question. A host planning a 90th birthday asked it word for word in the calls we reviewed, and the engagement-party caller wanted the same reassurance. Nobody wants the beat-up green box from a highway project in the backyard photos.
calls we reviewed in 2026 were wedding-related, including an engagement party and a planner. One caller asked for the deluxe flushing unit by name and confirmed it had a sink before booking.

An engagement party needs 1 restroom per 50 guests for a party up to 4 hours, using our house method. A 100-guest engagement party needs 2 units, and 3 if a bar is open. A common setup is 1 deluxe unit near the patio and 1 or 2 standard units by the driveway for overflow.
| Guests | Up to 4 hours | 4–8 hours | 4–8 hours with a bar |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 75 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| 100 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| 150 | 3 | 5 | 7 |
The house bathroom does not count as a full unit. It helps, but guests in a crowd avoid the hallway line, and you probably do not want 80 people walking through the kitchen. Run your own numbers with our porta potty sizing calculator.
Can I book the deluxe unit for a party at another house?
Yes. You can book a deluxe unit for a party at a parent's, sibling's or padrino's house. Give us the delivery address and the on-site contact's phone number. The driver calls or texts that person about 30 minutes before arriving, and the invoice still comes to you. Four of 19 reviewed callers were booking for someone else's property.
- Give the party address, not your billing address. We keep both on the order.
- Name the on-site contact and their cell number. They pick the exact spot with the driver.
- Ask them about obstacles: gates, dogs, electric fences, low cable lines over the driveway.
- Not sure of the spot yet? Book now and text a photo of the spot any time before delivery.
“I wanted to see about renting one of your deluxe port-a-potties.”
“And it has a sink in it, right?”
“I don't know where it's going yet. Can I call you back with that?”
“Any idea what time they'll come?”

Can I sign and pay for the rental by text message?
Yes. We send the rental agreement and a secure payment link by text message, and email if you want it too. Text arrives faster: in 6 of the 19 calls we reviewed, an emailed e-sign link was slow or landed in spam. You get a reservation number by text once the event is paid in full.
We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and debit cards. We do not take cash, and we do not add card fees. If someone else is paying, such as a parent or a madrina, we can send the link to their phone instead. The date is held once the event is paid in full.
Where should the deluxe unit go at a house party?
Put the deluxe unit on level ground near the party but away from the food, with 3 feet clear in front of the door. The unit is 47 inches wide, too wide for most backyard gates. A side yard, the driveway edge or a front corner works if the truck gets within 25 feet.
- Light the path if the party runs after dark. The unit has a translucent roof but no light inside.
- Face the door away from the dining tables and toward the house or a fence.
- Skip low spots in the lawn. A summer storm can puddle water around the door in minutes.
- Shade it from May to September. Laredo averages 100.8°F in July.
For soft ground, cables or a creek on the property, see our placement guide for South Texas ground.
What happens on delivery day and pickup day?
For a Saturday engagement party, the deluxe unit usually arrives Thursday or Friday inside a 4-hour window, and the driver calls or texts about 30 minutes ahead. Pickup is Monday. Nobody has to be home for either trip if the spot is marked with a cone, chair or ribbon.
Early delivery is on purpose. It gives you a day to see the unit in place, move the patio chairs around it and string a light to the door. It also means nothing depends on a truck finding your street on the morning of the party. If you want a morning or afternoon drop, ask; dispatch notes it on the route.
- Before the party: check that the unit is stocked and the foot pumps work. Call us right away if anything looks wrong.
- During the party: keep the door closed between uses so the inside stays cooler and cleaner.
- After the party: leave the unit where it is. A used unit cannot be moved or tipped until our truck pumps it on pickup day.

When should I step up from deluxe units to a restroom trailer?
Step up to a restroom trailer when the guest list passes about 100, the party runs late in summer, or the families expect an indoor feel. A trailer adds air conditioning, running-water sinks, mirrors and lights. It needs a level 20–30 foot space and a 120V outlet within 100 feet.
Both trailer requests in our 19-call review were for weddings, and both callers had power and a hose available. For a wedding reception at home, read our wedding restroom rentals page, which compares deluxe units, accessible units and trailers side by side.
