Do you deliver porta potties into Nuevo Laredo?
No. Jason Rental Works does not take portable toilets across the Rio Grande into Nuevo Laredo. Bringing equipment into Mexico temporarily generally requires a Mexican customs broker and a temporary import declaration, the pedimento, with a return deadline. Tamaulipas is also under a U.S. State Department Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory.
Those two facts make a cross-border rental slow, costly and unsafe for our drivers. So we keep every unit, every truck and every service visit on the Texas side.
- Customs: the U.S. trade agency explains that most formal temporary entries need a Mexican customs broker. See trade.gov: Mexico temporary entry.
- Safety: the State Department lists Tamaulipas at Level 4 for crime and kidnapping. See travel.state.gov: Mexico advisory.
Which sites near the bridges do you serve on the Laredo side?
We serve Texas-side sites near all 4 Laredo vehicle crossings: Gateway to the Americas and Juárez-Lincoln downtown, the World Trade Bridge on the north side, and the Colombia Solidarity Bridge in northwest Webb County. The World Trade Bridge alone handles about 10,000 northbound trucks a day, so yards around it need steady restrooms.
| Crossing (Laredo side) | Where it lands | Sites we serve nearby |
|---|---|---|
| Gateway to the Americas (Bridge I) | Downtown, in the San Agustín historic area; pedestrian walkways | Downtown shops, church and plaza events on private lots, parking-lot vendors |
| Juárez-Lincoln (Bridge II) | Southern end of I-35, east of downtown; cars and buses | Barrio Azteca events, parking lots, small warehouses off I-35 |
| World Trade Bridge | Western end of Loop 20 and US 59; commercial trucks only | Truck yards, cross-dock warehouses, Mines Road (FM 1472) and Killam Industrial Park sites |
| Colombia Solidarity Bridge | Western end of SH 255, near FM 1472; about 2,600–2,800 trucks a day | Yard expansions, road crews and staging lots along FM 1472 |

Who rents porta potties near the bridges?
Most bridge-area rentals come from the freight economy. Laredo is the No. 1 U.S. port by trade value, and trade, transportation and utilities make up nearly a third of local jobs. Truck yards, customs-broker lots and cross-dock warehouses rent units for drivers waiting in line, while downtown families rent for celebrations.
Drivers waiting on paperwork
Drivers sit for hours between loads. A 28-day unit with weekly service keeps them out of the office restroom. See truck yard restroom planning.
Broker lots and small offices
Small broker offices often have one restroom. Add a standard unit and a hand-wash station for visiting drivers.
Mines Road and Killam sites
Killam East alone has 331 dock doors. Peak-season crews add units by the dock. See warehouse and truck yard restrooms.
Two-city family celebrations
Quinceañeras, bodas and reunions held in Laredo often host relatives from Nuevo Laredo. See party and quinceañera restrooms.
Barrio Azteca and downtown events
Older lots near the river have tight access. Send a photo of the gate or alley first.
Bridge and highway crews
Planned World Trade Bridge lanes and Loop 20 expressway work bring crews that need OSHA-count toilets.

Need units at a yard near the bridge?
Call by noon, Monday through Saturday, for same-day delivery on the Laredo side. Dispatch answers in English or Spanish.
What rules apply to porta potties near the border crossings?
Units near the bridges follow 3 sets of Texas-side rules. Laredo streets and sidewalks need a city right-of-way permit pulled by a registered contractor. Jobsite crews follow OSHA Table D-1, which calls for 1 toilet per 20 or fewer workers. Public events need 5% accessible units, minimum 1.
| Rule | Who sets it | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Right-of-way placement | City of Laredo Building Development Services; pulled by a registered contractor | We place on private lots, not on downtown sidewalks. |
| Crew toilets and hand washing | OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 | Count every worker on the peak day, all trades included. |
| Event permits inside the city | City of Laredo | Call 311 to confirm the current event permit process. |
| Bridges and federal inspection areas | Federal agencies and the bridge operator | We do not place units on bridge or port property; we serve the private lots around them. |
Which unit fits a truck yard or a downtown lot?
A truck yard with up to 15 employees needs 1 standard PolyJohn PJN3 plus 1 hand-wash station, and 16–35 employees need 2 units under OSHA's general industry table, 29 CFR 1910.141. A downtown family party of 100 guests needs 2 standard units for 4 hours, and a deluxe flushing unit adds comfort for a boda.
| Site | Unit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Truck yard, paved | Standard PJN3 + hand-wash | 43.5" wide; sits flat on asphalt. |
| Broker office overflow | Deluxe flushing unit | Sink inside for staff and visitors. |
| Public plaza event | Standard + accessible unit | Roll-in floor, 32" × 74" door frame. |
Where should units go in a yard, and how often are they serviced?
Put a yard unit on flat pavement out of truck turning paths, with 3 feet clear at the door and shade if possible. Bridge-area units ride our daily Laredo routes, with weekly service included. From May to September, any unit used by 10 or more people a day should get 2 visits a week.
- Away from trailer swing. Mark the spot with a cone so a backing rig doesn't clip it.
- Riverside lots flood. Laredo closed riverfront parks for Rio Grande flooding in July 2025. Keep units off low river ground.
- Gate hours. Tell us when the yard gate is open so the service tech gets in.
